Friend, June is Immigrant Heritage Month. It's also when the State budget is decided. Every year, New Jerseyans watch as lawmakers ask communities to rank their priorities as final budget negotiations get underway. Whether funding for community programs, relief for families, or critical protections for workers, immigrants, and children, we refuse to believe that any of our issues can be negotiated away. At NJAIJ, we believe in abundance. We believe in radical joy. We believe in loudly and proudly celebrating the diversity of New Jersey's communities. That's why we're hosting our very first Immigrant Heritage Month Day of Action! From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on June 22nd, we'll demonstrate the breadth of our communities by featuring: - visual artists
- dancers
- musicians and
- cultural performers
We'll also be leading a rally featuring speakers, activists, and advocates who have fought tirelessly for immigrant, social, and racial justice bills in Trenton. We refuse to be divided. We refuse to accept scarcity. We refuse to be silent. We're ready to turn up, together, but we need you there with us. Learn more about the Day of Action here, and sign up below to reserve your bus seat down to Trenton. |
